Eija-Liisa Ahtila’s solo exhibition at the Davis, Massachusetts

Eija-Liisa Ahtila’s exhibition Olentoja (Creatures) opens at the Davis (Davis Museum at Wellesley College) on September 18. This is the first major presentation of the internationally acclaimed Finnish artist at a U.S. museum.

Ahtila is known for her psychologically intense video-installations that combine everyday experiences and mystery. Her work questions the nature of the moving image and offers a way of seeing from several perspectives.

Olentoja (Creatures) presents five pieces of Ahtilas earlier production that explore the interaction between humanity, animals and nature. The artist feels the exhibition title captured the essence of the theme and gives it “a bit more soul.”

Opening reception September 18, 2013 from 5.30-8 pm
On view through January 5, 2014
